Subject title: New at digital art. What can do to this portrait?

Hey all! I have watched Sycra for a while now and didn't ever visit here until recently. Everyone looks so friendly!

Anyway, I really wanted to get into digital art after only doing traditional, but I'm not so good. I think I have an *idea* of what a face looks like but I have never done anything on screen like this.

Would anyone be able to point out where values should be darker or lighter. I was intending a light to come in from the right side.

Hi Gelatin Skeleton!

I'm glad you picked up digital, a whole world has just opened up to you. I don't want to go on about anything specific in here, rather I'd advise you to try describing these forms with hard planes first and then rounding them out, like with a painting knife. Please don't airbrush everything so much and rather put your bet on few simple planes.

Have fun and good luck :D see, it's supposed to be fi_le like the file from the computer... the one where you put the data things in.

I am not much of a painter---but I think Istabrak on youtube has some very good advices on painting the face with regards to general values to start with and how to distinguish and blend the varying planes of the face
I post art to these places
