Subject title: How to be Successful

I wanted to make a thread on how to become a successful person (and in extension a successful artist).

I've noticed that successful people tend to have similar thoughts and habits.
Wanted to share my observations with you. Feel free to add to the list : )

Here's to us on becoming successful and becoming better versions of ourselves :D

1. They know what they want.

The people who seem to be most successful know what they want to do and
really focus on that. And people who are less successful are the people who chase what
they think will make them happy [or what society tells them will make them happy]
instead of what does make them happy
-- Sycra

2. They don't procrastinate or get distracted

If you really want something you make it your damn priority.
It all boils down to your intention and attention

3.They are problem solvers

I want us as, artists, to kill the "starving stereotype" once and for all.

I noticed that rich people have a different attitude and relationship toward money
compared to the middle class/ poor.

Here's an article that explores those differences: http://www.businessinsider.com/how-rich-people-think-differently-2015-8

One thing that blew me away is that self-made millionaires (who grew up dirt poor) believed that they were
rich regardless what their bank account said. But it makes sense though, your actions must be congruent
with your core beliefs.

First you have to define what you mean by "successful". Then you can look how you can get there.
(Oh yeah, and then society comes and kicks your ass, because they all collectively disagree with whatever your goal is, except its "get a job, get a house, get a partner, get kids, die" .)

I think everyone has a different definition on what success looks like to them. For some it's a set of skills, for others a degree, for others wealth. I like Bernard Roth's definition the best:

[Success] is having a good life, getting the job of living done in a satisfying way that nurtures the life force within us and within those we associate with...It involves finding something to do with out lives that engages us and gives us positive feedback
--Roth

Oh and for society fucking with your dream/goal I go with a "Damned if you do, Damned if you don't" philosophy.

"There's a 100% chance my dream/goal won't come true". Pursue it anyway.
