Subject title: Graphic novel: Panels or what?

I'm working on a graphic novel with my mom that we hope to finish in at least 2-3 years, I'm going to be the artist and she is the author but we brainstorm together. But I'm not sure really how to make a graphic novel, do yu use panels now and then or is it just a picture every few pages? Or do you have a picture on every page? We can't decide how we want it to be so some other thoughts would be helpful!

graphic novels are just long form comics, meaning there would be panels in it. the best thing to do is see what other people are doing honestly, day tripper is a good one, i kill giants is also really good. just go down the rabit hole and find things that would get you excited abt making a graphic novel!
