stupid me... why didnt i think of it first? use cyrillic when searching for tutorial sites, a huge DUH!

great lessons here for anatomy and perspective - plus a bunch more i did not explore yet...

http://books.maxiol.com/index.htm?t=books (8 pages of not-so-easy to find books mostly on how to draw manga, but a share of loomis books, anatomy and animals too...)

It recently got my attention that not everyone is familiar with this helpful 3d tool on pose maniacs for hands, so here you go!

Interesting way of coloring for you GIMP users:
Part 1
Part 2
I've seen similar techniques used in Painter and Photoshop.

Nice. thanks for sharing.

It's pretty much more of a designers technique as opposed to artsy. :P

Omar Dogan of the Udon Crew does something very similar and he's strictly an illustrator afaik.

I guess this is the best post ever for a beginning artist. Thank you so much. Very useful and revolutionary.

Hmm, I like that they highlight things for you, but the arrangement of the material seems like it could be better(not a big deal though), and a lot of the resources appear to be pulled from many different places making for incoherent reference imo.

Pretty sure this is from a Gnomon DVD, Drawing the Male Portrait with Ron Lemen:

He moves a bit too quickly with the information for my taste, but I suppose that's what rewinding is for *shrug*.

Great stuff in this topic, thanks so much for sharing guys! :o

I have this school project that includes a lot of landscape painting and I'm really having trouble with it. Has anyone found any kind of resource they found useful for landscapes (illustration related)... cause I'm really struggling here. Any book or tutorial that shows some kind of process from start to finish? Please, if anyone has anything to recommend, I'm really dying here :?

Feng Zhu(FDZSCHOOL on YouTube) is a master of landscapes, but I think lemec's(moatddtutorials on YouTube) creating a landscape with patterns tutorial is a good place to start getting you to visualize a landscape in your head.

By the way, if this is for school then haven't they taught you anything about this already?

Oh yeah, I've been a fan of Feng for a while, but he is waaayyy to advanced, I mean... I can just gape and stare, but nothing I can do can ever come close to what he's doing xD
I'll check out moatddtutorials, thanks a lot for recommending! =]

Sorry, I missed that part of your post.
Well, it's not something they teach us over here... =(
Basically the school that I'm in filters heavily upon entry and expects that most students will have some kind of skill already, which to use as a foundation. But I kinda got in as a lucky shot and I don't have a lot of these skills that they expect me to have. I can maybe do decent figure drawings and head studies but I haven't really done a lot of landscapes and... perspective drawings
We do have a class in perspective, but the professor is crazy... literally, he's crazy. He talks about spirituality, abstract stuff and kinds of things not-related to perspective. >_>

Well that's not cool, it's a waste of everyone's money.

Thankfully, it's really not expensive at all =) Otherwise, I guess it wouldn't be happening. A fee for one semester would equate to.... I think about $200 (two hundred) US. Something like that.
I'm from Eastern Europe, so... things are a bit different here. But overall, I'm satisfied.

Sorry for the spam.
