I’m sorry for kinda useless threads such as this.. This is an illustration by Yukachofu for Line. The colouring style is so vibrant and sweet and I can’t tell if it’s crayon or watercolour? So I have no idea where to get started colouring in like this. Does anyone know this colouring style, or a comprehensive tutorial on it?

I can tell there’s some sort of colour harmony, but when I attempt to recreate this with the same colours, it comes out muddy. Another example is the artist Amenomori Fumika

It's colored pencil, says so in their hasthags(in Japanese) on their instagram: https://www.instagram.com/yukachofu827

This is watercolor pencil, but it has a similar "greeting card" vibe to it that I think you're after:

I'd say the colors are analogous except for the yellow accent in the image you posted. You shouldn't have a problem with muddiness in color pencils unless you're using really dark pencils over a light base or vis versa.

Woah Ambi, you should become an art guru in the mountains. I thought some good minutes about how to answer this question and didn't come up with a clue.
