Subject title: Lets try to make a system

Sycra often talked about "lvl x artist" ("if you are a level 10 artist...")
Of course there exists no official level-system, but how about we try to make a system with which we can judge our skill-level?
And we can work on reaching the next level, when we know what it is that constitutes that level.

What exakt Skills should an Artist know/have dabbled in or even mastered, if he is:
Level 1
Level 2
Level 3
Level 4
Level 5
Level 6
Level 7
Level 8
Level 9
Level 10
and maybe then +10 increments until level 100.

I don't think this is quantifiable, unlike video games, learning isn't linear. Schools are pretty good proof of this because traditionally they have had to make a linear learning curriculums, but teachers often say that the students who excel in school are the ones who are also doing self learning that supplements the gaps that occur in their understanding. If you've done some self learning, you've also most likely experienced that when you go back to videos or books you've studied in the past, there are more things you are able to understand after having gained knowledge in seemingly unrelated subjects because they actually overlap.

Something Sycra also made a video on, by the way, is the fact that while drawing fundamentals are pretty much applicable to all forms of art, the amount of understanding of each one you need to accomplish a specific job(animation, illustration, character design, etc.) also varies. So having everyone follow the same learning path will inevitably waste a lot of people's time that they could have spent on something more focused to their needs. Granted, I think getting the ball rolling in any direction is probably better than worrying about if something is gonna be a waste of time, and then, instead, wasting your time not doing anything at all as a result.

While it's a really nice idea in theory, it's impossible to execute on.
Everything in art is subjective, there are many art styles, there are fluke pieces, there are pieces made with tools to help yourself etc. All those things can skew your "level" DRASTICLY. I've seen people make fluke pieces that they are unable to top for a year or longer. So how do you determine your "level" ? Are you as good as your best piece ? or are you as bad as your worst one ? do you take an avarage (how) ? It's just not going to work.
Also there is no unanimous idea of what's good or bad. In art often enough one man's trash is the other man's treasure. Just look at any art contest and browse throught entries, you're very unlikely to agree with the results.

I'm afraid that the closest you'll get to levels is a general idea like: complete begginer > "saw some art lessons" > intermediate > pro > god.
But at the same time you can have for example an itermediate artist that's really really good at lets say anatomy, but doesn't know a thing about color, or vice versa. So you can't really assign "what skills should artist know" to reach some level or the other.
