Subject title: Elektra From "Cowboy Bebop The Movie"

Ok, here's my fan art of Elektra from Cowboy Bebop The Movie:

Image

Again a bit stiff and needs more depth in the background cityscape?

I did a quick overpaint, and I hope you can read my handwriting ^^; I mainly focused on the city in the background... Generally I would advise that you should focus more on the overall picture, like establish harmonising colours (the neon green and bright red don't really go well with eachother, the red in her coat in this environment would probably be very desaturated) and focus on separating your values better - the face and hair of the character have high contrast for example, but it would probably look better if she was completely darker or completely lighter... :) I hope this helps you!

I dont know whats been covered. Ignore this if its already been said.
I would work on some color study... its kinda hurting my eyes, lol.
Desaturating colors would help alot.
What program are you using? And in what way are you using it? You have this fairly rendered image, but the highlights of the hair and coat etc are really scribbly.
Then theres just fundamentals stuff that you might want to work on, but that goes for everyone, even the best of us, (Which i very much am not)
I draw stuff sometimes and it looks like this: (Latest work on page 8)http://forum.sycra.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=76279

I was aiming at a fairly finished piece of significant work, not great work.

I'm fiddling about with Manga Studio 5.0 and I've definitely got room for improvement (it has a PDF instruction manual with no content or index page FFS  ).
