Subject title: Trying to learn construction

So i have been trying to learn how to simplify complicated objects into basic shapes. My goal is to try and master construction in order to tackle any object. I was wondering if you guys could give me some tips on how to approach this better.

You should definitely look at Scott Robertson. He has some tutorials on youtube, and a how to draw book if you want to spend $30. It has info on how to draw stuff like this from the ground up

In order to do construction you need to draw throught the form. And don't neglect perspective, because it's crucial here.
(normally you don't want your vanishing points to fit on the canvas, but it's hard to show principles of perspective otherwise)

Thanks for the tips guys. Yeah i will use more perspective for these types of drawing in the future. I was hoping to do it by eye but i guess i need more discipline.
