Hi,

So first of all. Great job on the hands, they make me wonder if this was based on a photo reference.
In any case what this piece is missing is at least some deeper or more pronounced shadows, for instance the sweater wrapped around his waist barely casts a shadow.
Turning this image in full grey-scale reveals that most values are around a midtone. Thus working on values would be my suggestion.

Oh, this is nice! :) I like the character design, and that dull look in his eyes. I think it would look even better if you added some darker shadows and brighter lights, specifically the highlights, and the darker shadows we get in little pits and folds. That way your artwork will seem more crisp and detailed. Also - the wings might stand out more on a darker or lighter background.
