day 3, i'm regular as twitter's UI updates

I'm trying to practice Vilppu's approach to gestures, the one where he first finds rhythm, then goes over the form, then contains it or something (here's a demo for Proko: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pa_2rL1K1mg). For now, mine are messy and it was a mistake to try to do them fast, but it does give a result that feels like it has volume in a very short time!

here it goes then, some practice and some concepts

Nice stuff you have, I like the style very much, very dark grim cyberpunk, that is the mixed vibe it gives me.

Allow me to echo Overloader, the dark techno shapes give off a very nice cyberpunk vibe. Keep that stuff coming!

thank you, folks! Dark cyberpunk is what I was going for. Well, rather what my hands draw when I let them loose.

day 5. decided to try to do those in 3/4, and got my butt handed to me. I need to work on my method if I am to handle angles, just going in doesn't work when perspective comes into play. (Also Painter botched smoothing on the pistols somewhere along the line.)

My first attempt at doing a weapon. Only now realise I should've done away with the donut (a saw, theoretically). It may make for a fun silhouette, but I couldn't incorporate it well enough.

sometimes I make a small to moderate change to a design and I have no idea if I like the new version better or not. I think I've found a way to check, and be more sure. In retrospect, it's pretty obvious, but that's how it usually goes (it's inspired in part by a series of posts on composition by Paul Something over at learning-to-see.co.uk ([1], [2], [3])

in case you can't tell, there are subtle differences between them. after a pass like that, I take the one I like best, replicate it into a new batch, and make a new pass of changes. I mean, it's the first time I'm doing it like that, but I think it's a nice approach

also, I do this way zoomed out

These sci fi designs are some of the coolest stuff ever.
Im not gonna just tell your theyre perfect though, cause i like them so much i wanna see better versions of them.
If you learn and apply a bit more anatomy and proportions and stuff, then 10-10 :D

hey, thanks a lot, Alpacky! The positive feedback I got here is encouraging. And I'm on it! Anatomy I mean

I wonder which parts are the most distracting though, what should be my primary focus in regards to anatomy?

nothing presentable today, so here's a pair of recent ones. A bit more abstract, a bit tattoo-ey (I think), a touch of body horror:

Very cool looking sketchbook. I really like how you get a lot of value even with black and white sketches. It reminds a lot of Ashley Wood if you haven't heard of them. Keep up the great work.
I too mainly draw girls.
