Pretty happy with the girl. :)

Like the way I colored her too, not a big fan of shading in color :/ also not very good at it.

Ive drawn like this before I had even heard of steeliebob, but, I too saw the connection when I was browsing his sketchbook earlier.
Thanks, too, by the way :P That part is important.

Awesome work on your faces, man! Great use of shape language to convey character, and you seen to have a good grasp on facial structure too.

I also like how the girl came out! Though, I can't help but feel like her front leg is disproportionately huge? Might just be a trick of the perspective, though. And as for shading, using Multiply layers is definitely a good, easy way to start practicing. :)

Thanks for the help! Critiques like that are seriously useful! :D
I tried to fix it, I think i got it to a more realistic size. It was the perspective, but I went too far.
Glad you like the faces :) I only started drawing people last year, before that none of my art had people in it. Idk why (well, I do sorta know, but, whatever)

Super helpful!!!

I see a lot of unique faces! That's very impressive, you definitely have a strong grip on perspective and anatomy. Your characters convey feelings effortlessly, I like your art!

P.S: I definitely remember looking at your sketchbook before but unfortunately I don't remember replying here, oops!

Thanks!

I've been experimenting with... how I actually, like... draw, after sycra gave me a patreon critique. So here's my first attempt.

Tons of problems proportions off on the girl. Lots of stuff to figure out, but... not horribly upset for a first attempt at drawing like other people draw... you know, with care and time and effort.

Ok, looking at these now, I take that back, they are awful, but, oh well :/

Nice forms that you use generally - like the girl with the bag has a really cool expressive pose, even though she "just stands around" :D That's a great thing to still make it interesting looking. And also really digging the shapes of your heads! :D

I really like your style for figures. Have you ever looked at a comic called Scud the disposable assassin? Only cuz the image you did below reminds me of it.

Trying to pay a bit more attention to details, and symmetry and structure and stuff that sycra critiqued me on.
Doesn't really show in this piece, ur I liked it so I posted it. BACK TO ART!

lovely design, the hair looks really cute :D
i do think that the way the ribbons are flowing are corrupting the form of the hips, an easy fix though

Thanks spider! Your totally right. I'll fix it if I ever go back to the piece.

I took telepurtes advice... and drew for 3-4 hours today. I'm going to start doing it every day.
Will post results.

These go in order from, just woke up, to right before I posted this.

Great! I'm som glad someone likes it. That's my favorite style, but not many people like stuff that isn't... "pretty", I'm working on doing art as a job in 6 or so years, so that's what I'm thinking I need to work on. But I'll do more of it if someone out there likes it.

Thanks as well, purino

Revision. Idk.

Personal, and psychology stuff, if your just here for normal style, pratice, just skip.

Spoiler: show
Once again, not sure if anyone cares at all. But if one person kinda liked it.... why not? So I did more....

I guess this is "alpackys subconscious/psychological/innate style."

It's what I draw in school, or when I'm really depressed (which I guess, are the same thing. *badumm tshhh* lol)

Anyways, not I guess, "the forum" for deeper psychological but... eh.

If we're getting personal, the one of the girl is a crush/friend, I think she is a pretty human. The others are random, idk.

(Edit: come to think of it, she's probably the girl from that dream earlier.... same jewelry and... aesthetic?)

I'm liking your scribbles, dude! Love how the lines themselves tell the story of your mood :) I think practice is nice and all but I'm happy to see art that goes beyond just working out your skills ^_^

Hi Alpacky.

Many years ago I was in a similar situation. My pencil work just did not seem to get better.
Then, for some reason (for which I cannot remember) I started to draw with a pen (Biro).
I drew only with a Biro for about 6 months. (I know that may sound like a long time for a 16 y.o.).
It is much harder to do fine work with a Biro than with a pencil.
I got so fine I could feel the ball roll in the Biro.
After 6 months, I decided to give the pencil a go. My drawing improved out of sight!

The point I am saying is that to improve, you have to practice on harder/difficult things than you are used to.
Change the materials / mediums / subject matter, etc.
Go against the grain of what you find easy.
If ugly is easy then try beautiful.
If caricature is easy then try portraits.

Take a risk, and experiment.
But remember, it is okay if an experiment blows up in your face. It happens to us all.
Give the tough a go, until it is no longer tough.

Peter.

Traditionally, I draw solely with pen. That's where these bad habits came from, unfortunately.

Also, that's actually some really nice advice...

I needed that, thanks! :D

Steeliebob: I'm glad you like it! Yeah, I've been retrying to "git gud" as they say.

Geryes: yeah, that outfit wayyyy to long to put in a 3D space. Like.. an hour? To clean it up and color and fix stuff 0-0

Pseudome: I'm Glad! needed to remind myself why I draw, so this is my break in between learning stuff.
