Subject title: Alpackys sketchbook, and quest for satisfaction

Thanks for the responses and advice guys.
I'm fairly new to digital, it frustrates me how bad (fundamentally) some of the stuff comes out. But I'm slowly getting closer to my abilitys with traditional, so that's good. (Especially because I've been improving a lot in traditional)

I re-sized and transformed some stuff in the image of the female knight person, she was originally a sketch and then I just Willy hilly added a background, so the background is still pretty out of place, and there's a lot of stuff I can see, but don't have the patience to fix, but it's better than before, for sure.
IMG_0911.JPG
Improved but not at the ability of my eye at all yet. To lazy to keep working on pieces for long periods.
IMG_0912.JPG
I dunno, not happy, just learning how to use tablet.
IMG_0913.JPG
Tablet practice.
IMG_0910.JPG
More robot tablet practice.
IMG_0909.JPG
Actually pretty happy with, as far as my digital art goes, starting to look like my traditional.

This video helped me a lot with facial proportions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2T7cDY7YDsg. It's really long though. Generally, just keep in mind the ears, they're off in your portrait because they're too high up and they should be between the ears and eyes.
I think you're loads better than me, so I can't really offer any more advice. Doing good, dude! Your poses are really nice, imo, especially that sitting down one. It looks really natural.

Thank you very much for the advice!

For the record, "loads better" is being very generous, :p

Is this better? What's still off?

Yea, I think it looks a lot better. Another small thing that I just noticed: her right (my left) eye seems a little off in relation to the eyebrow. In your facial planes studies, you drew some diagonal lines from eyebrow to eye. That's because the eyeball is in a socket. You can think of the face as a sort of smooth sphere, and then you carve out a box-shaped socket under the eyebrow. One side of the box starts at the eyebrow and gets smaller as it gets further away from the viewer, if that makes sense. Hence, the diagonal lines are creating a plane that gets smaller and smaller.
I think you'll get it if you just do more referenced stuff :D Faces are crazy hard anyway I think.

From imagination poses and faces.
Like the poses kinda. I think I'm getting better with anatomy and stuff. Not so happy with the faces but, it's something I gotta work on.

Wow your sketches are looking awesome, loving your figure sketches and robots. Full of personality and life so keep it up! For the faces, it'd be nice to see some of the same under drawing and construction work with the forms in the same way you have with your figures. They've got really cool and interesting shapes though so i really like that.
