Subject title: Alpackys sketchbook, and quest for satisfaction

The style is indeed expressive, and it seems to be working out for you, but I think doing some more faithful studies from time to time would really benefit you and perhaps help you to push the stylized drawings even further. It's when you know how things look like and work that you can really play with it and stylize it in a successful way. For now, your drawings feel a bit hit-or-miss to me - some are really nice and powerful, but in some there is a lot of struggle and uncertain scribbling.

Steeliebob: will do, thanks :D
RAC00NIE: Yay! Im surprised that people can tell what they are, but glad!
Overloader: Thanks, and yeah. Im trying to figure out if its stylized or lazy, but if it looks like its intentional thats good :)
SvyatLyk: :D
Idan: Yeah, thats what i've begun to do. Stuff is slowly getting more fundamentally sound, will post later. Yeah i've always believed in that Idea, and have been working my way there. This is the conclusion about my work that I've been slowly coming closer too, so hearing from someone else is really helpful. THANK YOU :D for the constructive criticism, always VERY welcome but sometimes far and few :D (Not that I don't appreciate some blatant kind words now and again) I will attempt too prove my understanding of your crits importance in the next post :3

Hey there, this stuff looks really cool and interesting! I really like the work you have shown so far especially the traditional stuff. The way you use your lines to show forms is nice, it feels like there is some movement going on! Keep up the good work and I'd like to see what you make in the future c:

Your colours, your lines, your gesture is all really energetic, dude!
If I were to offer a critique I'd say that being energetic is both a good and bad thing.

Good, because everyone likes energy and spontaneity in art because it makes it exciting and appealing.

Bad, because you are sacrificing accuracy for speed and energy. a lot of your work, sketches especially is suuuper rough and it shows.
First of all, if you want to increase line weight don't go down the line and then up the line. Go down the line twice. Why? because the muscles used to make your pen go down and then up are two different muscle groups, so obviously it's not going to be as accurate as using the same muscle group twice. Using down and up for the same line will you get a messy line.
Second, when hatching, try not to go hatching down and then hatching up without breaking the line to make Z hatches. It's the same principle as first point. A lazy and messy vibe to your art.

Third, if your lines are the way they are because you're energetic and motivated, or if it's because you are lacking energy and feel exhausted (I would think it to be more likely since I kind of know you), your art will not lose any individuality or quality by being a bit more tidy with your execution. I'm referring to your sketches mostly since your paintings are pretty nice. But even then, you still gotta learn how to have a steady hand and how to be clean and tidy.
The cleaner the lines, the easier it is to turn it into a painting, and the cleaner your strokes, the easier it is to finish a painting.

I still think you're doing a really good job on your work ethic, shape language, and ideas, and there's more good than bad; but it's easier to point out something bad than to praise the good.
Keep up the work lol

Spider: I’m glad that YOURE glad! ^~^
And yeah colors have always been sort of easy for me, I won’t lie and say I studied or practiced. But I will be honest and mildly unmodest.
Thank you very much! :o

Tele: Yeah, I totally get what you mean and I’ll try to be cleaner and more intentional with stuff, as I talked to u and zam about on ze discord ;p

Hey Alpacky. It's great to see you posting because I like your drawing style a lot. I'm not sure if you've still been drawing but you've actually improved a bit. your sense of color is great, except for the angel. My brain ended up reading it as a sky and the the background as rocks point upwards to the sky for a first impression.

I like the portrait of the girl with the elf ears a lot in that (albeit not quite dynamic as some others) it's a lot cleaner than most of your drawings. ^^

Hey Alpacky! I've gone through your sketchbook a few times, but never found the right words; now I've got no clue either but since you left a note in sketchbook I feel like it's a good time to say that your drawings really give me the good feels :) Keep the colours and forms up and have fun in here!
...you see, it's supposed to be fi_le like the file from the computer... the one where you put the data things in.

TURNS OUT PROCREATE HAS BEEN RECORDING EVERY DRAWING I'VE EVER DONE

WAS AN AMAZING SURPRISE, DECIDED TO MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT.

https://youtu.be/a1-CFjESnzQ

MUSIC DRAWING TIME LAPSE COMPILATION OF SOME OF MY MORE PROUD PIECES.
I WILL BE MAKING MORE OF THESE IT WAS SUPER FUN!

(EVERYTHING IS BOLD TO DRAW ATTENTION BECAUSE THERE ISN'T ANY PICTURE, SO PEOPLE WOULD PROBABLY THINK THIS WAS SOME RANDOM TEXT POST AND IGNORE IT)

I really love watching your process, It's very different from most other artists. Idk why but I really like the one around 2:31, sure most of the other ones are more beautifull but that one really shows off why I like watching you work in that video, because from beginning to end your drawings end up changing so much.
(I know ive said it before but i like the faces you do mayn, except the ones who have drooping mouths sometimes, but whatever i still like 'em)
Hope you're having fun drawing, or whatever it is ya do!
