Nice studies and value maps! I think you should experiment with edges for another layer of fun :D

@brighto: sure thing but I can't guarantee that I'll always be online mostly because internet here is bad. I do go online though when I have something to post that's when I read messages and stuff. my instagram infinity.monk@instagram.

@Korrson: I've been drawing since I was a kid but it was an on and off thing. Mostly because of procrastination and I procrastinate for months if not years. But now I am really serious on trying to get in touch with my inner artist and improve my skills. I always wanted to make good illustrations and teach art. Someday maybe...

@PitE: thanks. I thought maybe making the values simpler would make it easier for me to understand it. Actually that's what I'm focusing on. I do a lot of line art and sketch with pencils and got used to making forms that way. Painting on otherhand forced me to see forms in a different way. You can't just separate edges with a line with painting.

Made this rough sketch as a value exercise for skin and also experimenting to use saturation properly in a painting.

Here's a 2 hour photostudy. I know it's a ridiculous amount of time to spend on a study. Hopefully I'll get faster next time.

Here's another photostudy. It's annoying how my computer monitor displays color of this image differently from my phone. :)

@TheoVal: Glad you liked them. I'm now pumped up to do more studies.

@colonelhacker12: thanks man. I'm glad that this looked good on your end. I use a tv for a monitor so I wasn't really sure how would this look like on other people's devices

Here's a wip on a profile picture I'm working on for my instagram account. I'm having fun painting the male face because of the details.

It's coming along nicely, the planes are pretty well sculpted :). Pushing the shadowed area darker would probably help those eyes really read like they are glowing and help separate the shadow from the light better.

At any rate, keep up the hard work, it's refreshing to see someone give plenty of tlc to making their work look as best as they can.
