but they look so cool to me, that I might even try to recreate that, if you dont mind.

.. maybe its the dynamic poses? ..plus the coloring maybe.

Hi Polymath,

I am super happy that you mentioned those poses and that you like them.
At the moment I am doing gestures a lot . I would say that dynamic poses is something which come ouf of gestures drawing.
In future I would like to be able to draw any pose or gestures I can imagine. By this time it is more like drawing like line of action or more curves and then thinking what gestures could come out of it.
I am always trying to express some energy or feeling or movement but not always it comes out as I wish.

Of course, that you can use any of them for recreating :)

thanx a lot for your comment and Have a great time

nothing special and new in my drawings, just drawing mainly heads and human bodies over and over and ....I have not drawn much digitally recently.. I was drawing more traditionally in sketchbook and found that it is a nice change after sometimes. Reason was also that my eyes hurts from permanent staring in the display at work and then at home when I draw. I quite like discovering in drawing human torsos recently. These below are drawn after wathing Mikey Mega mega tutorial:D not perfect, but it may get better after sometimes. :geek:

Hey :D

I was passing by and took a sneak peek at your sketchbook and got interested by the variety and "rawness" of what you displayed here, but at the same time I'm really sorry but your work simply isn't appealing to me :?
I really like the way you simply express whatever you want in your more complete pieces, and even got a bit jealous of this "ability" you seem to have . It's in those that your creativity shines the most :D

Yet at the same time I'm curious, would you say that most of the time you draw things because you're bored and draw whatever or because you really are interested in/passionate about them ?
I ask you this question simply because if the answer is the former, as one looking at your sketchbook might think it is, plus the fact that you put little to no context around your work doen't really help starting a conversation about your art :?

Do you have a long term art goal ? or even short term goal ? If you do maybe share it with us 8-) and if you don't, well simply keep enjoying drawing whatever and however you want I guess :D

Hi Wlazo :)

thank you for visiting my sketchbook and thank you for your honest comment on it:) I really appreciate it.
Of course I would be happy if my sketches were appealing to you but at the same time I understand that they do not have to be your cup of tea as we are all different and have different tastes.:D

Well, it is right that my sketches are kind of random and without context, but I would not say that I draw because I am bored, It is that I draw because I like drawing.

It just happened one day that I asked myself what I like a then realized that I always liked drawing in past, even I did not drew much. So I said to myself why not to try it out. So I bought a sketchbook and started sketching. It did not take long and I realize, that I was enjoying it quite a lot and I drawed more and more. Now when I am thinking about it, the true is that I started, because I was bored:D like you mentioned, because my main hobby was only going out for beer with friends or playing footbal. This is my boring story in short:)

The true is that I do not have any drawing plan and in fact I do not know where I am heading and I feel kind of lost, because of that.
I also realize that I should do more studies in order to get better visual library, as I am mostly drawing from memory, which is probably not the best way how to improve:/

To answer you on the question If I have any short term, long term goal is that I always wanted to be able to draw dynamic poses from any angle in as many positions as possible.
I was aslo playing with an idea of trying drawing simple comics, but my skills are very limited right now I guess:/. After some time hopefully. My biggest enemy is time as I spend the most of my time at work, and then there is not as much time as I would like to have for others activities, but it is as it is, and I am not stressing out of it anymore:)

I also checked your sketches and have to say that they are very appeling to me mostly:D
I especcialy like your perspective sketches, those rooms with furniture. Those are looking really great. I have to try something like this too, when I am now thinking about it:D
+ some of your figures have very nice energy in them I would say.

that was actually what I meant when I asked if you were drawing when you were bored, that was poor phrasing on my end sorry
I can see that you like drawing and that you are proactive in your practise :D

I have faced very similar issues until quite recently so here's my little story :D
So, I have been proactive in drawing for 4 years now, but I've drawn since I was little. Currently I manage to draw ~8 hours a week more or less envenly divided and spaced out
For a while I didn't have any sense of direction in my drawing, I had this vague long term goal of making a comic but mostly daydreamt about it.
I drew because I liked drawing but focused myself entirely on the anatomy and persective fundamentals, thus not actually making any finished pieces and certainly not making any progress towards my end goal.
This situation persisted for ~3 years

The resulting piled up frustration lead me to rethink the way I approached things,
First I wanted to really understand how an artists learns and I was lucky enough to find the following document which answered exactly that

From there I really tried to get a clear grasp of what were my non abstract interests.
for example I switched my long term goal from making a comic to telling horror, action and adventures stories, and made my short term goals into worldbuilding (creating a cast of characters and environments) :)
Because those were really the themes inspiring me, and as I consumed related media I tried to be even more focused on the aspects that I was really passionate about.
Even going as far as taking screenshots and writing notes on the fly because having to look back and find what striked you can be very time consuming.
I researched artists who participated in the making of the content I liked, as well as classes/courses/books/tutorials for learning the fundamentals required to be able to enventually analyze them :)

I feel like I draw in a much healthier way right now, even though its not perfect  , anyway I really hope this can help you direct your art practise in a way that better suits your ambitions :D

heya,

your story seems to be very similar to what I am coming throw at the moment :D
I have checked the Effective Art Study Guide you sent me and yes, it is definately worth of trying out. It makes sense to me what is written in there and it looks that it could work.
So, I thank you for the reccomentadion :) and hopefully it will get me move somewhere :D

The other thing is that after you commented on my sketchbook, I started to think about my heading in my drawings and that I need some kind of project, which could by actually my short term goal:)
And it happened and it came out of blue that I got an idea of creating a simple board game.(I like playing board games a lot). So for now I have a written simple rules included characters with stats and have started creating graphic design of it (mainly characters) and I am very excited of it which is giving me a new energy:). So at the end of the project could be actully a product. Of course it will be all very amaterisch and primitive, but I guess this is what I need, having some goal and direction :)

Thx once more and good luck :D

Hi,

here is something I drawed according to a reference. It is main character of Ekho comic. It originally comes from Alessandro Barbucci. I like how he expresses hair and his gestures of almost everything are just amazing to me:)
