Subject title: Weaver's Sketchbook

Hi.

Here are some of my sketches.
I've been doodling and sketching since I was a kid, but I never really developed my skills. Only recently I've started working on improving my drawing. I was inspired by Sycra's videos and this forum.

So after some lurking, I've decided to give this forum a try.

I've been drawing on paper mostly and have only started working on digitally creating my art.

Looking forward to hear all of your feedback.

Oh wow these are very lovely. Are these all sketches you've done while riding the train?

Thank you. I do the rough sketch on the train to work in the mornings and then clean them up during my lunch break at work.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Your sketches are quite good too. Very cyberpunk, darkwave stuff.

It looks like there are a lot of fans of genre stuff (anime, manga, comics, and video game art).
Here's some old sketches of my own original genre stuff and also some fanart. As you can tell, I am very much a Ghibli fan.

Please feel free to comment, look forward to hearing from the other artists on this forum :)

Oh nice! I like how you turned your commute into something fun and productive. I really like your creative stuff too. Do you have a gallery or something somewhere with more of your stuff?

I am going to really try to make an effort to draw more and will start posting here on this thread.

Please feel free to leave feedback, including critiques.

Here are a series of quick sketches of people I did sitting at a coffee shop over the weekend.
The last is a fan art sketch I did of Ashitaka from Mononoke Hime (Princess Mononoke) from Studio Ghibli.

All were drawn on copier paper using a No.2 pencil (nothing fancy) and then scanned in with a flatbed scanner and levels adjusted with photoshop. I kind of like the messy paper grain :)

I have a deviantart account but it doesn't have much more up. I haven't kept it up.
I've found that it's hard to get any real interaction on deviant. I'm using it for just hosting my images at this point.

Thus I think I'm going to try to engage more here instead of deviant.

And thank you for you comments. I appreciate it.

Your subway sketches are amazing! Of course, the other sketches are good too. It's just great to see some sketches with shading. The people's faces are so different and realistic :) I love your shading style!

Today's sketches!

The first is a pretty obscure 80's comic book character, Longshot. Wanted to concentrate on a cool gesture/pose/movement and also do some perspective effect with the bandolier. Not bad for a quick sketch.

The second is a sketch of Tyrion Lannister from "A Game of Thrones" HBO show. I decided to try and treat it like a life drawing, so watched a clip of Tyrion in a scene on repeat. So instead of working from a photo, I had to try and work from a moving image. Trying to emulate the way I do sneak studies of people on the Metro and at coffee shops. Pretty happy with the way it turned out!

Thank you, very much! I've been drawing/doodling for years (since I was a kid), but never took it seriously and only recently really started studying actual technical stuff. Working to improve more!

Also your drawings are very cute!
