Subject title: Looking for a Study Buddy (or a Mentor) :)

I just recently pulled myself together and started working seriously on bettering my drawing skills, atm. I am using a drawing class on Udemy.

I have never taken any art classes before the one on Udemy, but I did have an architectural course two years ago when I attended the Architectural Engineer education, sadly the math was to hard for me (I have dyscalculia) so I changed to another major. I am pretty strong in architectural sketching, but could sure need some practice with anything else.

I am mostly looking for a studdy buddy, though I wouldn't say no to a mentor.
I am looking for someone to give and get critiques from, to do competitive work with and so forth. I mostly do digital work, but have recently returned to pen and paper. I often use references and wish to be able to draw without them.
As part of my internship, I am doing a good deal of designing and other creative work, most of it is in vector though. I am also the webmaster of a LARP website (still working on it), where my work includes the graphical work done there.

Hey there! I'm not all that sure if I'm exactly what you're looking for in a study-budy/mentor but I'm able and willing to help you out. lol Sadly, though, I don't have a camera on this laptop so we wouldn't be able to do any video sessions if you were looking for those but I do have a skype and we can chat to our hearts content. :) It's super cool that you're into larping though, I've been interested in it for some time now, honestly. Though, I really have no idea where to start, so I do the closest thing I can to it: COSPLAY~. Anywayy, I'm kinda going off on a tangent here so I apologize. I think it'd be awesome if we could share drawings and like - motivate each other and all that jazz. I'd have to say, though, you and I have VERY different styles of drawing and all so I don't know if that'd be a problem for you but I'm perfectly fine with the difference. But, it's all up to you, lemme know what you think and whether you want to be study-buds or not. I look forward to hearing back from you. :)

Not sure if the study buddy position is filled, but a tip of advice for drawing something without reference would be to bring up the reference, study it, take notes on it, learn what you can, and then visualize and try without it.
And in the great words of Aaliyah, if at first you don't succeed, you can dust yourself off and try again. :) Good luck.
